A member asked:

I am a 25 year old pcos patient. i got diagnosed at the age of 18. i am planning to change my lifestyle and adopt a healthy one. the biggest issue for me is to find a replacement of sugar in diet. can you please suggest some options?

The body can make all the sugar it needs from other carbohydrates, fats or proteins. Complex carbohydrates like those found in a sweet potato are a good example. Going to a diet with less exposure to white breads/white potatoes & pastas eliminate some of the foods that quickly convert to sugar. Consider a consultation with a clinical dietitian for a sensible diet alternative.
