Moderate amount of stool retained on ct colonography despite bowel prep. it said no abnormality seen but limited due to retained stools. i take prescribed laxatives daily and did bowel prep. should i be concerned with so much retained ?

You should not be surprised or concerned. This is not uncommon, especially in someone who has chronic constipation. However, you should know that the colon was not completely examined by the colonography. You should follow up with your gastroenterologists to get the findings and to make a plan for future Testing and treatment. Good luck.

I had CT colonography. It states that evaluation of solid organs is limited due to the absence of intravenous contrast. Are they still able to see anything major without intravenous contrast ? Also it states moderate amount of stool?
