Unable to have normal bowel movements. laxatives no longer work. i have to strain to the point of nearly passing out to pass liquid stool or gas. no bowel blockage shown on x-ray or ct scan. what could the issue possibly be?

The issue is more...: More teamwork and evaluation with the primary care and gastrointestinal doctors are needed. A person with constipation needs to be sure there is no other disease causing it. If constipation is just due to slow movement of the food and poop through the gut, then the things to try are exercise, vegetables, prune juice, laxatives, etc. Colonoscopy may be needed. Doctor may try Linzess or Amitiza.
