When did it occur and how long did it last? I do not think what occurred was sleep paralysis. I would though follow up with neurologist as significant numbness is concerning. it could be a variant of migraine but it may be more significant like MS or mass, or aneurysm especially if family history. Although highly unlikely that this episode is the beginning of significant neurological problems, would behoove you to contact your physician. Your event does not suggest an imminent stroke, or aneurysmal rupture.
