A member asked:

My father has cvid and parkinson's. are there any tests that could show the likelihood of my potential children developing these same problems?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Common variable immunodeficiency (cvid) is comprised of about 150 primary immunodeficiencies having common features but which have different underlying causes, some of which may be genetic but no testing available. Same is true for parkinson's disease which is often of environmental origin rather than a genetically predisposed condition.
