Starting with your GP/ primary care doc will be best. Recognizing the need for help is an important step you made as definitely coping and adjusting are needed. Your GP should be able to recognize your needs and coordinate further in the community as at least counseling will be needed. Time remains the main healer, but you may need qualified help to bridge you to recovery.

Antidepressant medication provides the most rapid intervention, but long-term solutions should be sought. Counseling, especially cognitive-behavioral therapy, has provided excellent results, and biofeedback, meditation, aerobic exercise, and acupuncture are additional tools to consider.
