Prescribed buspirone for anxiety (10mg am, 10mg pm) and amitiptyline for chronic pain (75mg pm). is this risky for seratonin syndrome at these relatively low doses? both drugs are very helpful so i'd hate to have to discontinue either of them?

Yes, there is risk for serotonin syndrome as buspirone may enhance effects of amitryptilline. Close monitoring and efficient communication with your prescriber(s) will be needed.
