A member asked:

Should someone be concerned if their doctor states in their child's file after an echocardiogram that "a left superior vena cava is not present"? is this a good or bad thing? i have joint custody and wasn't present or informed of this visit?

It is abnormal to have a left superior vena cava. The fact that there isn’t one is good-a left superior vena cava is a congenital abnormality. For a full interpretation, you should talk to the doctor who ordered the test, if possible. Good luck to you!
