If/when symptoms are triggered by a pregnancy the trigger is related to the hormones made by the placental/fetal unit. These turn a pregnancy test positive. Having a big belly is a non-specific finding that can be related to many conditions. If pregnancy tests are positive, explore other possibilities, as some could be worrisome.

There is a condition called pseudocyesis .In this rare clinical syndrome, a nonpregnant, nonpsychotic woman believes she is pregnant and exhibits signs and symptoms of pregnancy including big belly. Consult your O &G doctor if you are eager to conceive.

Correctly done tests would be positive in a pregnant woman. Negative ultrasound and negative pregnancy tests rule out pregnancy. Your big belly may be due to fat accummulation.
