A member asked:

I have had a few positive urine pregnancy tests but negative blood tests (multiple). ultrasounds are also normal. they couldn't find a sac. i have a very swollen lower abdomen. could it be a pregnancy that has gone undetected? what should i do?

If blood test is repeated negative for pregnancy, i.e. hCG level less than 5, you are not pregnant. The etiology of swollen suprapubic or hypogastric area is definitely not due to pregnancy so you will need a thorough physical exam and likely CT of the abdomen & pelvis should be done for finding the cause.

A false positive urine pregnancy test is quite rare. Could it be that you lost the baby but the urine test still detects the HCG hormone some time later even though the blood tests were negative? Your gynecologist/obstetrician can advise you best.
