Positive for strep two weeks ago. 10 days of augmentin. now negative. i had tonssils removed in 2014. i have painful swollen tissue since strep where tonsils used to be. what could this be? concerning ?

It is not uncommon for some tonsillar tissue to grow back after tonsillectomy. Does the painful area appeared reddened which would indicate irritation/inflammation. I recommend another throat culture to determine whether another pathogen is present after all that augmentin.
