I had a 103 fever last night but tested negative for covid. after taking advils i woke up feeling a lot better with a 97-98 temp and drastically less symptoms. to my surprise, i now tested positive for covid. could this be a false positive?

It can take a couple days after the onset of symptoms for COVID tests to flag positive. I would assume this is a true positive and take the necessary precautions (5 day isolation). Over the counter cough/cold medications can be used as needed. Contact a doctor if you develop difficulty breathing.

Agree with Dr. O. Wear a mask to protect others, keep it on for at least five days after you are afebrile.
