You really need to quit smoking. Smoking has a lot of health risks including but not limited to lung cancer, emphysema, etc. Your liver function tests were quite abnormal and it is good they decreased but you need to continue to try to get these numbers down to normal. Your liver has inflammation and finding out why is helpful. See your doctor for help with smoking cessation. Good luck!

Make sure a hepatologist or gastroenterologist is involved in your evaluation, appropriate testing & follow-up for best care. Have you had a hepatitis panel tested to ensure that you don't have viral hepatitis? However alcohol excess.may well be the cause of the elevated liver enzymes in view of rapid improvrment of SGOT&SGPT. Permanently abstain from drinking alcohol to prevent permanent damage
