Do hsv pcr test show the location of which a swab was taken from or would the results look the same regardless of location i.e finger mouth or genitals? or would result just show genetic marker which would be the same regardless of location/specimen?

Regardless of the location which specimen is taken, test result always reveals the virus type, either HSV1 or 2.
