Can symptoms of anxiety last for weeks? i lost my mother in december.. and have been having a strange feeling in my chest for weeks. not pain but a weird feeling. also find myself breathing rapidly when up had problems w/panic but not like this.?

Yes, while anxiety on the background of grief is always possible, medical reasons for your chest discomfort will have to be ruled out first, specifically arrhythmias and/or bronchospasm for example as they are always accompanied by anxiety. Seeing your primary care doc would be best in this context.

It is not feasible to provide an opinion without additional history, physical examination may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor to see if you may be depressed. Depression is treatable. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water.
