A member asked:

How long after a head injury are you safe from developing a subdural hematoma?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

By far, the vast majority of closed head injuries NEVER develop subdural bleeding. As we age, and brain atrophy ensues, the distance of bridging veins increases, leading to a higher risk of tearing and a subdural bleed. If at age 18, bleeding does occur, it would be acute and quite noticeable.
