Would be suspicious of your clenching your fists, or bending your wrists, which would cause transient mechanical compression of your median nerves at the wrist. In essence, subclinical carpal tunnel syndrome is secondary to your polyneuropathy. An EMG test of the arms should be confirmatory.

It is not related unless you have your hands in a position to cause pressure on the nerves at the wrist
