A member asked:

Can precancerous or cervical cancer be missed on paps 3 years in a row ? how likely does it happen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Never say never. PAP smear is a screening test and could miss the diagnosis. However, it would be unlikely for the lesion to be missed three years in a row. If you have any concern, you may ask your doctor for colposcopy and biopsy.
