Make sure your doctor has this information then follow her advice. Most likely the bacteria causing your UTI is resistant to the antibiotic you were prescribed. The bacteria from your positive culture can be tested to determine which antibiotics are active against it, guiding your doctor on what to use for re-treatment. Good luck.
