When starting on anti hypertensives, the initial weeks may produce side effects which may include rapid heart rate, feeling dizzy, nausea, etc. This is a result of your blood pressure being lower. Your body initially tries to compensate for lower blood pressure by increasing the heart rate, it does lessen over time as your body adapts to the new "normal." These are not signs of cardiac arrest.
