: It depends. Untreated hyperthyroidism is dangerous to both mom and baby. When severe it can result in fetal death/malformation/prematurity. When the mother&amp; baby is monitored closely during pregnancy and treatment fine-tuned to both their needs a good outcome for both is possible.
