Yes it can: Hyperthyroidism can speed your body's metabolism, weight loss, anxiety, irritability, tremor. Insomnia, just to name a few. Some options for treatment: pharmacological (torazole, Propranolol ) or surgical, removal of the gland.

Agree w Dr. Grin: The hyperthyroidism needs to be addressed promptly - often by an endocrinologist. A specific treatment plan would be developed for you. In the meantime, medications such as benzodiazapines, Buspar (buspirone) or antidepressants can help with sxs.
