Hyperthyroidism: Unless you're experiencing a hyperthyroid medical crisis like uncontrolled hypertension or a very rapid cardiac dysrhythmia, I don't think going to an emergency room will get you appropriate treatment. A specialist in internal medicine should be able to get you on track for initial treatment or arrange a referral to an endocrinologist for a prompt appointment.
