A member asked:

Is 96 to 98% oxygen levels good i've stopped smoking 10 weeks now is this ok or signs of lung damage and copd ?

Normal.: Anything around 95% or above is normal. 92% can be acceptable for certain disease states, such as copd. To evaluate your lung you'll need to undergo a pulmonary function test (pft), which will help the physician determine if your lungs are functioning within an acceptable range. Discuss with your pcp.

Good start: You may improve as your lung recovers from the trauma and cilia take action and cells revert! you most likely have damage related to packs per day and years involved, but can get better with time.
