Occasionally wets pants, gets to distracted in what he doing ignores urges until he has an accident is this normal behavior for a 6 year old?

This is not a question from a 4 year old nor about a 6 year old but more about parents also that should demonstrate structure that builds and enables children to grow and be unconditionally loved and feel safe. The parents recognizing the weakness of a child should not read it as behavior but recreate a structure that tells him to go to toilet by being there, observe and correct.

This is quite common for children of this age. I would encourage him to not wait, but not punish him for this. If it is occasional and without other symptoms, it is unlikely to be an underlying problem. However, I would also recommend discussing this with his pediatrician who knows him better than we do on this platform.
