A member asked:

How long before post nasal drip is considered sinus infection? was not sick prior to. started suddenly. very thick cannot cough out. i literally have to use my fingers to remove it from my throat. tried claritin, saline, flonase. been 10 days now?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It is not the duration of post nasal drip that determines infection because it may just mean allergies that is not adequately managed. Increase you warm fluid intake may help loosen and ease removing secretions. If you have fever you may want to be evaluated. You may want to add environmental management also to the medication you are taking by limiting dust exposure and that includes pet dust.
