My mom 55, hypertension patient, two days ago her bp was 250/100 went emergency. no her bp remain 160/100 taking bp medication 5/120/12.5 amlodipine, hydrochlorothiazide & valsartan. doc says it will take time to get back normal. how long it take?

If by 2 weeks, her BP does not get down below 140/90, her med may need to be adjusted up. The optimal BP should be less than 130/80 after 3 months. She should lower salt intake and do exercise 30 minutes/day or one hour every other day. Her BP was very high so bring it down slowly is better than a steep reduction. Her medication regimen is about average in strength with the current doses.
