Abnormally low muscle tone can be associated with several medical disorders & is non-specific for diagnosis. Methylphenidate (Ritalin & other trade names) initiates fight/flight nerve/hormone types of tissue responses, & in safe doses can help those w. ADHD &/or narcolepsy. Neurologists are best specialists to pin down cause of an individual’s weak muscle tone & choose the best/safest medication.
