Consult your doc: Headaches can be a side effect of stimulant meds, ask your doc about whether this might be reduced if u take it by clock rather than "2-3 x day", or if a slow release form might smooth out the rise and drop in blood levels. If you are missing sleep becaue of the stimulants - this whole approach can backfire - so finding and treating the cause of excess fatigue might be something else to consider.

Ritalin (methylphenidate) and Fatigue: If you suffer from chronic fatigue a thorough medical evaluation by a physician is critical. Ritalin (methylphenidate) is approved for use by the fda for adhd and narcolepsy. Doctors also prescribe Ritalin (methylphenidate) for chronic fatigue. Ritalin (methylphenidate) has many side effects.; high blood pressure, headaches, anxiety, insomnia. If you continue to have these symptoms longer than 3-4 weeks, contact your physician for revaluation.

Headaches (HA): Are not uncommon w/ stimulant meds. Are you taking other meds, otc drugs, energy drinks, strong caffeinated drinks? If so, these may be contributing to ha's. Sometimes people get ha's if they take the med on an empty stomach or when the dose is wearing off. Changing dosing pattern can help the latter. Unfortunately, other adhd meds like strattera (atomoxetine) and Provigil may also cause ha's.

Drink more water: Headache is a side effect . Remember to drink a lot of water when u are on ritalin, (methylphenidate) cause it makes you urinate more often. Dehydration causes headaches. Lay off any and all caffeinated drinks!. Give yourself a break abstain from it for a few days a week, like a weekend or even a few days in a month.
