I got 3 iron infusion and my hemoglobin went up from 10 to 12.5 , rbc from 3.66 to 4.11 wbc from 3.5 to 5.6 but im concerned because my iron went down from 36 to 23 and my sat from8 to 7 & my ferritin from 9 to 167, tibc from 476 to 318 is this ok?

You definitely had had iron deficiency anemia and you responded well with intravenous iron. The changes in iron level and iron saturation are correlated well with changes in TIBC and ferritin. High TIBC and low ferritin are markers of iron deficiency state. Most importantly, cause of iron deficiency needs to be identified and treated. The most common cause at your age & gender is uterine bleeding.

Anemic (ferritin was 0) had iron infusion, RBC is 4.63, WBC is 5.1 and platelets are 116. Dr thinks counts ok. Feel terrible. What could this be?

What does it mean when your ferritin is 944 (high), Iron sat 9 (low), iron 27 (borderline low), TIBC 316 (normal); hemoglobin/hematocrit 9.7/29.2 (low), RBC 3.17 (low), platelets 534 (high)? My haptoglobin was also high, retic count high but ldh low?
