The ability for early detection does not affect the incidence of the cancer. It is painless in its early stages, and unless people go for screening, those who develop colon cancer will not have it treated before it spreads and not only becomes life changing but life threatening.

Reason why a person gets any cancer is so far unknown and many factorial. Screening is for early detection and treatment and not for prevention. There is a difference in the two terms
