Someone who takes carbamazapine 2 times a day. she was getting 400 mg each dose and it's been reduced to 200 mg each dose.she seems out of it , not eating, low urine output and more frequent rigid body movements. is this from the med change?

For what condition is she being treated? Epilepsy? Nerve pain? What is her mental status background? I'm reluctant to attribute confusion,appetite loss, diminished intake of fluids to the decrease in dose. Her treating physician, who knows her best, is better qualified to answer your question.

If your daily dose of carbamazepine is reduced from 800mg to 400mg a day for epilepsy will you get withdrawal symptoms. Fatigue, frequent seizures, loss of appetite etc. It was suppose to be raised but got lowered for some reason. It's been 5 days?
