I had a lumpectomy nov14 2022. now a month later i have an infection requiring antibiotics for 7-10 days. is this uncommon? i had redness and tenderness which was spreading, no real drainage or incision opening but i worry that's next?

An infection can occur after any procedure, though it is unusual for the onset of symptoms to be this delayed. Hopefully the antibiotics will be sufficient but sometimes they simply keep an infection sufficiently contained until it can track to the skin surface and drain.
