A member asked:

Could a hiatal hernia seen during endoscopy ever be a false positive? if so, under what circumstances?

Never say never, but highly unlikely. For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs. Get HPV vaccine. Wish you good health! Safe sex: https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/wellness-and-prevention/safer-sex-guidelines

There is no 'false positive' for a hiatal hernia. It is a visual diagnosis. Yes it is possible to misdiagnose it if the endoscopist is totally incompetent- which I doubt
