A member asked:

Do physicians ever get white coat syndrome? what's the best way to deal with it as a patient when even exposure therapy doesn't work, i went to the same dr a million times and every time i get anxiety and blood pressure skyrockets?

Bring records of multiple home or work blood pressure readings to assure your MD that all those other readings are normal. Also have your monitor checked for accuracy by a nurse at the office or at work( if possible). If I have a reliable patient with excellent out of office BPs, I reassure the patient and ask him/her to continue BP monitoring & inform me if BP starts trending over 130/80.
