"Sub-centimeter simple follicles" is consistent with a normal ultrasound exam of the ovaries, and means cysts (fluid filled entities) less than one centimeter are found within the ovarian tissue. This kind of result is considered benign, and does not generally require follow-up treatment. Ask your GYN physician about oral bcp's if pelvic pain initiated the ultrasound exam.
