A member asked:

Recently i strained my upper back/spine. i did this by over stretching and staring down at my laptop for too long. i now get heart palpitations if i stare down at my phone etc., for too long and my back/spine feels unstable. please let me know why?

Increase in heart rate or production of premature atrial or ventricular extrasystoles, all of which can cause palpitations, are often secondary to anxiety or pain. Rest your spinal muscles, stay off alcohol & caffeine, avoid stressing your upper back. See your MD if palpitations and/ or back pain persists.
