Very good afternoon doctors. i am having fasting glucose and cholesterol bloodwork. how many hours should i fast? can i brush my teeth or use mouthwash, or will the chemicals affect the fasting bloodwork results?

A minimum of 9 hour fast is needed for lipids. Brushing and mouth wash will not affect the results.

Mouthwash and/or toothpaste will not affect your results. Do not eat anything after dinner the night before.
