A member asked:

Is it normal for losartan 25mg to increase resting heart to 130? should i ask the doctor to change medication or stop?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The only way losartan can do that is indirectly by dropping your blood pressure too precipitously. I would look for other causes of a resting heart rate of 130/ min such as overactive thyroid, primary cardiac arrhythmias or certain hormonal secreting tumors like pheochromocytoma or adrenal gland pathology, for example. Should you consult a cardiologist if your MD hasn't addressed this?
