Ultram is an opiate: Ultram has habit forming potential as it contains opioid (narcotic) like activity and may be abused. If you no longer have pain you should get off this medication. If you still have pain as well as a history of addiction to narcotics, discuss your options with a pain management/addiction medicine specialist.
