Adult tooth enamel is a very hard substance. In children's baby teeth which are softer there is a technology that allows for "drilling" cavities with a water jet. Unfortunately this is not possible with adult teeth. For those individuals who really have issues with drilling and procedures, various levels of sleep anaesthesia are available.
