Usually an effective antibiotic exists even for the most resistant bacteria causing UTI. It could require IV treatment. Evaluation may be needed for factors that prolong UTI, increase the risk of resistance, or raise risk of complication (e.g. urinary tract stones, bladder diverticulum, and many others). If not yet done, see both an ID specialist and urologist. Good luck.

It is good if the person seeks a good Urologist who investigates and finds the cause for it and then treats it accordingly. In the meantime drink plenty of water and keep the vaginal area clean. Wishing you well
