Sometimes the immune system can get rid of the virus and sometimes the test can be false neg. Not being symptomatic is a good sign Lets hope you are over it..

This depends on the details of your positive test result. Probably it was an HSV2 antibody test like HerpeSelect. Look at the numerical values. Results over 1.1 are officially positive, but only 3.5 or higher is conclusive. People who have something like 1.2-1.5 may test negative (under 0.9) on repeat testing. If you have similar results (now under 0.9) there is almost no chance you have HSV2.
