I have hsv2 and have had recurrent miscarriages, most of which happen w/in days of an outbreak (wks 5-8) is the virus to blame? how can i avoid this?

Not likely: the HSV, natural antibodies that you have produced are protective of the fetus as well. You could request a daily antiviral to suppress HSV if you wish, however not likely to be the source of problem with miscarriage. Consider getting tested for any blood clotting disorders, or metabolic syndrome, or polycystic ovaries, any of these could contribute to a higher miscarriage rate.

Fetal loss: Would also discuss use of progesterone and low dose aspirin for recurrent fetal loss with your ob. Though cervical to fetal transmission is rare you could discuss prophylactic acyclovir to prevent outbreak.
