A member asked:

Should i take a diuretic, hydorchlorothiazide, if i have worsening symptoms of sjogrens?

The fact that Sjogrens has nothing to do with hydration means you should probably discuss with your physician more about your concern regarding taking hydrochlorothiazide. You have not given enough information about your medications and why you are on Hydrochlorothiazide; which could also cause dry mouth independent of the Sjogrens.

Legitimate question, however before considering stopping hydrochlorothiazide, your prescriber should be informed in order to have it properly replaced, if needed for hypertension. That will eliminate its possible overlapping effects on Sjogren's symptoms.
