Diuretic: Talk to your doctor. If you are on furosemide, weak 'natural' diuretics may be wrong for you.

In most cases..: Spironolactone, an aldosterone inhibitor is better. Low potassium is not a side-effect. It is an anti-hypertensive drug as well. Furosemide is not, and it increases aldosterone. Studies show that the use of Furosemide in congestive heart failure does not prolong life. Spironolactone does!
