Told doctor i've run fever as high as 103 1 time in last 4 days. when i eat, i am vomiting. pain radiating from lower abdomen to top of shoulder blade. dr. in er ordered ct, was told enlarged appendix and sent home. in a lot of pain. what do i do?

Return to the emergency room NOW! Don't drive yourself. If you don't have a ride, call 911. I suspect the papers you were discharged with tell you to return for fever, vomiting or continued pain. You are better off returning to the same emergency room than starting over in a different one. Don't wait and don't think they don't want you to return, As an ER doc I know they want you to come back!

If you are having persistent pain and fevers to 103, you should return to your doctor or go back to the emergency room. Good luck.
