So i'm getting my left kidney taken out next month since it is functioning at 8 percent, i had pyelonephritis and my kidney is atrophic but my right kidney is well functioning. i've been fatigued and extremely itchy so will the surgery help at all?

Not likely unless you are still infected. If you have HBP ASK for a renal arteriogram to see if artery problem. If no HBP no reason to take kidney out.
