Terrible charley horse 2 nights ago outer side of shin, ankle & up front leg. pain is still pretty bad. anxious about a dvt. already on blood thinners no prior dvt, but pain won't go away. can dvt present in outer shin or is pain from initial spasm?

No, your symptom is not consistent with a DVT, especially you are taking blood thinner. Pain due to a severe cramping at an unusual place may persist for a couple days. You should try tylenol for the next 24 hours.
