Do i have to call my doctor before i take nyquil? i don't take any other regular medicines? just occasional naproxen but not lately? i have a lot of congestion and cough. negative for covid test at home?

I wouldn't consider it normal or necessary to call your doc about taking an over-the-counter medicine. You should consider making a list and taking it in to show your doc at any scheduled visit. They can decide if any of them are a problem in your case for future use.
